Easton Primary School

Mr Ratcliffe - Executive Headteacher

I grew up not too far away from Easton and Aldeburgh and actually attended Thomas Mills High School. After Thomas Mills I went to Birmingham University to read Philosophy and then stayed for a further year to complete a Masters of Science in Congitive Science - which is to do with how we think and learn.

After my formal education, I moved into the world IT and worked as a computer programmer for a time in the Midlands and then moved to London to work as an IT Consultant. Although I really enjoyed the career in IT, I always had a desire to teach and so volunteered for a year in primary schools before retraining officially in 2003.

2004 saw me begin my teaching career working in both Reception and Year 6 and in 2007 I became an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) for Maths until I became Deputy Headteacher at Wickham Market Primary School in 2012. In 2016 I was asked to join Aldeburgh as Acting Headteacher whilst the Governing Body looked at options for the school. They decided to join Avocet Academy Trust and did so in May 2017 joining Easton, Wickham Market and Leiston Primary Schools.
